About Me

Amy French

Chartered Physiotherapist

Bsc (hons) Physiotherapy, PG diploma injection therapy, MHCPC, MCSP, MAPPI, MACCP

I have been a chartered Physiotherapist for 19 years with a wealth of experience working in a variety of clinical settings, both private and public, rehabilitating both acute and chronic injuries and a variety of post-surgical conditions. Most recently I have been working as an advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner in the Scottish Borders collaborating closely with GPs, which has allowed me to further develop expert diagnostic skills. I trained in Pilates with the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) having qualified in mat work 15 years ago.

My vision as an experienced physiotherapist is to support and empower my patients to lead healthier lives and achieve their goals, whatever their age or ability.

We will work together at your home to understand your movement patterns, work/life environment, underlying conditions and your motivations to enable recovery from injury or surgery.  The focus of our rehabilitation is to  reduce pain, reduce any fears of movement and prepare your body to be be strong to do its job- whatever you want from it.  Treatment is holistic combining conventional physio techniques including massage, soft tissue and joint mobilisation and acupuncture  (where appropriate) with strengthening exercise including pilates.

We cannot speed the body's healing process, but we can create the optimum conditions and all the support the body needs along the way.

I enjoy being active, especially running, Strength training, spin classes, horse riding and Pilates. I have 3 young children who keep me busy when I'm not working. We all love being outdoors and exploring the beautiful Scottish countryside.
